Research interests

I am working on a quantum cryptographic link between the Albert-Einstein-Institute (AEI) and the Institut of Quantum Optics (IQO) in Hannover.

The quantum key distribution is realised by means of continuous two-mode squeezed states at 1550nm. One beam of the entangled light is kept at the AEI whereas the other is sent to the IQO through ordinary telecommunication glass fibres which have low absorption at 1550nm. Due to the quantum nature of entangled light eavesdroppers can be detected.
