Research interests

I concentrate on a coherent search, based on data collected by the Hanford, Livingstone and Virgo detectors, for transient "burst" of GW radiation with relatively short duration (≤ 1 s). Plausible burst sources include merging compact binary systems consisting of black holes and/or neutron stars, core-collapse supernovae, neutron star collapse, starquackes associated with magnetar flares or pulsar glitches, cosming string cusps and other violent events in the Universe.

To carry out the project, an excess power algorithm will be used, that constructs a least-squares fit of the two GW wave forms by coherently combining the data from the different detectors.
