Research interests

My PhD Thesis focuses on the possible detection of electromagnetic (EM) counterparts to GW-sources. That means, that I will work e.g. on the understanding of accretion physics as well as on jet physics in environments where a premerger binary black hole system or a postmerger black hole is surrounded by gas. Furthermore I am interested in the origin and cosmological evolution of the environments of binaries so as to understand the parameters and configuration that we expect to see  on the sky today and maybe so as to find characteristic signatures of these systems in the EM.
