Research interests

I am working on increasing the accuracy of ultra-sensitive optical phase shift measurements.
To enhance the signal-to-noise-ratio I make use of a squeezed light source with large free spectral range and a high finesse optical cavity. The non-classical light is phase-modulated and injected into the cavity to create a high accuracy error signal spectroscopically.
The outcome of this is the task to control the plant with the methods of modern control techniques. Therefore it is indispensable to use “optimal control” as a solution – which means it is necessary to first simulate the control loop and optimize the control parameters for stabilizing the cavity, and characterize the optical parametric oscillator.
