Members of the International Max Planck Research School

The Gravitational Wave Astronomy school typically comprises around 50 to 60 PhD candidates at any given time. They are advised by a similar number of faculty members and senior scientists.

The School is guided by an Executive Committee (Speaker: Prof. Dr. Karsten Danzmann, Deputy Spokesperson: Prof. Dr. Bruce Allen, Deputy Spokesperson: Prof. Dr. Alessandra Buonanno) and run on a daily basis by the Coordination Office (Sandra Bruns).

PhD theses advisors in the IMPRS

The faculty members of the school are for the most part permanent scientific staff members at one of the participating institutes, having a teaching affiliation with one of the participating universities or have taught previously elsewhere. The faculty is complemented by a large number of senior scientists at the participating institutes who are involved in supervision, thesis committees, and in teaching.
